During this unit of work students will use a range of sources to investigate the role of a particular man or woman and the contributions each made to the shaping of the colony. Students will also explore and discuss the impact of settlement on local Aboriginal peoples and the environment.

Task Differentiation
To extend advanced students you can allow them to compare and contrast perspectives of two different people and an additional ship if required.
As this task is student based and driven, students progress at their own rate. Lower ability students will still do all the required tasks, however they will not be expected to have as high a word count as the other students.
You may also allow the gifted students help struggling students with the technological aspect of the assignment.
